What will set up to be a very interesting doubleheader with Dallas Center-Grimes tonight, the Pella High baseball team tripled up Chariton last night, 9 – 3. Marcus Wittmer had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three batted in. Ethan Butler went the distance, giving up seven hits and one earned run. Coach Jesse Jablonski tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the game started slow, but his team picked it up in the middle innings, scoring three in the fourth, four in the fifth and two more for good measure in the sixth. He adds that it was important for his team last night to not look ahead on the schedule to Friday. The Lady Dutch fell to the Fillies 14 – 0 and 12 – 2. Pella is undefeated with a 6 – 0 mark while the softball squad is still winless. As mentioned, the boys are on the road for two against the Mustangs and Pella’s girls are off until Saturday for a tournament in Oskaloosa.
