In a clash between two teams that made it to the semifinals of the 2013 Class 1A state baseball tournament, it was Twin Cedars that downed Van Meter yesterday at Principal Park by a final score of 3 – 1. Coy Moore was on the hill for the Sabers, and he went five innings, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out eight. Otis Roby was 2-for-3 batting with a pair of RBI’s, and Garret Pettyjohn knocked in the third run for the Sabers with a single. The Sabers are now 8 – 0 on the season and are off today to prepare for a match-up with Moulton-Udell next on Thursday.
