An area team of firefighters and first responders travel the country to help clean up storm damage in the hardest hit areas. Mahaska Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, traveled to South Dakota this week to help with flood damage. A team of firefighters from New Sharon and Sully joined T.J. Frank on the trip. He says that the people they help are surprised to see people from a small town hundreds of miles away coming to assist with damage clean up. He says the group has responded to major storms across the country, including Hurricane Sandy and the Moore, Oklahoma tornado. Find more information about Mahaska CERT on our website KNIAKRLS.com. We’ll have more with Frank on Let’s Talk Pella Monday.
