An area pilot is selling balloon rides this weekend to raise money for his charity and cancer research as a part of Balloon Fest. Pilot Tim Cloyd is from Runnells, IA, and is making his third visit to Lake Red Rock. He says that Lake Red Rock provides a great visual when up in a balloon. He’s selling balloon rides for $200 per person, and a portion of that money goes to his non-profit organization TEC Visions. Cloyd is also gearing up for an annual ride he does for cancer research called the “Extreme Balloon Ride for a Cure,” where he flies during the winter months and reaches altitudes of 17,000 feet. He says he’ll be accepting donations for that ride during his stay in Marion County as well. If you’re interested in purchasing a ride this weekend, he says to call him at 515-205-4855.
