Cooler, drier weather made its way to the area this week, but temperatures weren’t quite cool enough to break records. The high only reached 70 degrees in Pella and Knoxville on Tuesday, which tied the lowest previous afternoon high on record set in 1989. Overnight lows of 54 were within a few degrees of breaking the record low of 52 set in 1933. More summer-like warm temperatures return with high humidity to the area this weekend into next week.
