They were a young team, dotted with several freshmen and sophomores and just a small handful of seniors, but the Central women’s track and field team still made their mark on the 2014 outdoor season. Sophomore Abi Davis earned All-American honors at the National Outdoor Track and Field Meet for Division III, finishing second in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 100. Another group of Dutch women that made it to the national stage was the women’s 4 x 400 meter relay team. Though they finished 15th and didn’t qualify for finals, Coach Joe Dunham says the fact that they got there alone was an accomplishment in and of itself. Central’s women lost just five seniors off of the varsity squad and will bring back a plethora of talent for 2015.
