Slaying their first two opponents, the Pella Christian softball team is just one win away from their first trip to the Class 2A state tournament since 1990. The Eagles have gotten by Cardinal of Eldon, Jesup, and now must topple a one-loss Highland squad on Monday night that is ranked number one in the state. The Huskies hit a solid .376 as a team, which is 12th best in the entire state. Their pitching staff is also very, very good; as their hurlers carry a 1.42 ERA and a better than 5-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio, while allowing just 52 runs to touch home plate in 31 contests. Cory Houser will be in Washington, the site for the Class 2A regional final, live on 92.1 KRLS and KNIAKRLS.com with play-by-play coverage. Pregame starts at 6:45 p.m. with first pitch at 7:00 p.m.
