Smoke filled a Pella business Thursday afternoon, prompting an evacuation. Emergency crews made their way to the PPI Building on Washington Street after 4 p.m. Thursday after receiving a call that filters inside of a machine caught fire. Pella Fire, Pella Ambulance, and Pella Police all responded to the scene, and Pella Fire successfully extinguished the fire. No significant damage was reported and nobody was injured.
