Baseball and softball are funny sports. Pella Christian’s softball team committed seven errors in the first four innings of their regional final game against Highland to fall into an 11 – 2 hole. The majesty of the game is that there is no clock, which allowed the Eagles to collect themselves and put themselves in a position to charge back, which they did, though falling a run short of at least tying the game in the seventh inning. For the seniors, it was their last game ever with an Eagle jersey on. For the rest of the squad, it’s a chance to recollect and build on the mistakes for 2015, and that’s exactly what Coach Karen Harrill wants her team to do in the offseason. Harrill adds she hopes the team can play more 2A schools in addition to their gamut of Little Hawkeye Conference games next year.
