The Knoxville Municipal Airport will receive a $836,787 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration grant program.

The funding will be used for the reconstruction of 700 feet of the existing pavement parallel to Taxiway A. It will also fund the reconstruction of 3,800 square yards of the existing apron pavement.

Airport Manager Dan Van Donselaar tells KNIA/KRLS News that he is pleased with the award, as the pavement needs to be replaced. It was poured sometime in the 1960’s.
