The State Softball Tournament is going on this week…and for 40 teams in class 4A the goal of getting to state will wait until next season. One of those teams that would like to get in on the fun of playing in late July is Knoxville. The Panthers fell to state tournament team Carlisle in the regional semi-final two weeks ago. Coach Steph Christner told KNIA/KRLS Sports the team improved through the season, and with seven starters returning she expects them to take the next step. The Panthers finished 14-17-1 on the season.
