The Knoxville Baseball Squad split its regular season ending double header with Mount Pleasant last night. The Panthers took game one 4-3 scoring all four runs in the sixth inning. Ross Shelford got the win and Tony Salato got his school record tying eighth save of the season. The second game was all Mount Pleasant as Knoxville struggled on the mound issuing eight walks two hit batsmen and committing two errors falling 11-1 in six innings. With all the struggles on the mound last night, Coach Joel Johnson told KNIA/KRLS he liked the way his pitchers battled. Kevin Woodhouse took the loss in the second game. The Panthers now look to the class 3A district next Friday in Centerville. Knoxville drew Keokuk in the opening round.
