Friday’s game with Keokuk in the class 3A baseball district will mark the new season for Knoxville. The Panthers finished the regular season 19-13 and a third place finish in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Panthers are taking this week to heal up injuries and according to Coach Joel Johnson get a little more confident in all phases of the game. Johnson tells KNIA/KRLS it only takes a three game winning streak to get to the State Tournament. On the other side of the district bracket is Centerville and Chariton. Knoxville has played both of those teams this season with a 2-1 combined record. The Panthers and the Chiefs will play at five this Friday in Centerville.
