Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells KNIA KRLS News that a 55 year old man who went missing late Thursday evening was found shortly before noon on Friday. The man had called family to let them know he had car trouble, but was unable to give them his location, and his phone battery died. He has a medical condition that can sometimes disorient him, so the family contacted local law enforcement for help. Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Pella Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol conducted the search, and the man was found safe just below the dam at Lake Red Rock. He was transported to Pella Regional Health Center for observation.
