The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center in conjunction with Marion County Emergency Management and the Knoxville Police Department would like to inform the citizens of Knoxville and the surrounding area of a change in the dates for the testing of the Outdoor and Indoor Warning System.

The testing normally occurs at 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of the month, March through October. However, due to weather conditions, the decision was made to postpone the test scheduled for last Wednesday, July 2nd. The test, weather permitting, will take place today, at 10 a.m.

Also, in light of the 410 Knoxville Nationals scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 6th, the August test of the Indoor and Outdoor Warning System has been moved forward one week. It is now scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 30th at 10 a.m., weather permitting.
