The Pella Police Department received a complaint about possible fraudulent sales tactics on Monday. The complaint revolves around sales of a “promotional advertisement” for the Pella School District, and the company in question is selling advertisement space on promotional items for a price. After investigation and communication with the school, the Pella Police Department determined there is no illegal activity with the promotion. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says the school district does not partner with companies in this manner, and says this is a common business tactic this time of year because of school starting soon. If anyone has questions about sponsorship or promotional items or advertisements involving schools, contact the individual school or team promoted.
