The Pella School Board discussed the timeline and the bid package of the Lincoln Elementary construction project at their regular meeting this week. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says that they anticipate the project will come in at $1 million more than their original plan, and that number is a direct result of the construction market right now. The board will also consider up to an additional $500,000 in alternatives depending on the bids they receive next month. He says the board hopes to approve a contract in mid-September so work can begin in early October. The board also approved a $22,000 contract to Rozendaal tiling for the demolition of two houses purchased by the district in relation to the project. He says the ultimate goal is to have students in a new facility by January 2016.
