Twin Cedars’ baseball team used more than just their abilities on the field on Saturday to defeat Underwood 7 – 0 in the opening round of the Class 1A state tournament. An overwhelming outpour of support came out to Principal Park to cheer on a group of guys who have put so much work into their product that they are now reaping the benefits. Coach Matt Miller says having that cheering section, plus his team’s ability to keep the pedal to the metal was what steered them to victory. Twin Cedars’ principal, Dave Roby says there is another tailgate in the works, though the details are still being finalized. KNIA/KRLS Sports will let you know where, when and how you can root for your Sabers this Thursday against Gehlen Catholic in the semifinals in Des Moines.
