Coming in as one of the favorites to make it to the finals of the Class 1A state baseball tournament, Twin Cedars is getting down to work to make sure that their stay is a lengthy one. After dispatching of North Mahaska in the substate final on Tuesday, Coach Matt Miller tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his guys were anxious to get back to the diamond and prepare for Saturday. One of the first things the Sabers did was get some of the menial information about their trip to Principal Park out of the way. Once that was discussed, Miller adds the team still had things to clean up before they play Underwood tomorrow morning. Fans are encouraged to get to the ballpark early tomorrow. Thanks to the Twin Cedars Athletic Booster Club, the Knoxville McDonald’s and the Knoxville Fareway, there will be a “Saber Tailgate” on the north end of the stadium starting at 9:00 a.m. and going until ten. They’ll have pancakes and sausage on a stick, but you’re encouraged to bring your own drink. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
