Three straight singles in the seventh inning was the best Pella Christian’s softball team could do against Pella High pitcher, Elyse Sadler last night, as the Lady Dutch won 8 – 2 over the visiting Eagles. Sadler threw a complete game, allowing five total hits, two runs while striking out five. Sara Tallman and Lydia Dingeman were nearly unstoppable at the plate; Tallman went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI double, while Dingeman slapped three RBI singles and drove home a total of four. Nicole Kelderman had an RBI single to highlight the Eagles’ night offensively. Pella improves to 8 – 18 while the Eagles fall to 12 – 18. Each team plays a doubleheader on Monday; the Eagles play Grinnell and Pella High takes on Newton.
