Following a rainy, gloomy weekend, the Melcher-Dallas softball team will try to bring some sunshine back in round one of the Class 1A regional tournament Monday against Southeast Warren. This will be the third time the two schools will battle in just the past ten days. The Warhawks prevailed in both contests by final scores of 13 – 4 and 12 – 2. Coach Nick Ellis says that Southeast Warren likes to put pressure on the defense and pitching staff with aggressive base-running, and hopes to turn the tables on them tonight. The winner will take on a tough Lynnville-Sully squad on Wednesday in round two. Monday’s first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 7:00 p.m.
