4th of July celebrations in Knoxville, Pleasantville and Bussey entertained spectators and participants of all ages Friday. Activities in Bussey’s North Park were open all day Friday, and onlookers lined the streets for the parade at 10. Pleasantville’s day began with a flag raising ceremony at Memorial Hall and then the parade at 11. Fireworks shows entertained hundreds as temperatures dipped to the low 60s and the rain held off in Marion County. Pleasantville’s Firecracker 5K was scheduled for the 5th, but instead was run on Sunday, due to a very soggy Saturday morning.
