Class 2A District 12 baseball heats up for Twin Cedars and Pleasantville, after both teams had practically a first round “bye” on Tuesday, they’ll each try to advance to the district final tonight. Both schools dispatched of their quarterfinal competitors in just five innings the other day, and hope to have little-to-no problem in the semifinals. The Sabers will play host to a Southeast Warren team that had their troubles against a struggling Moravia squad in a round one affair that took nine innings to decide a winner. The Warhawks are expected to throw one of their top southpaws, and Coach Matt Miller says it’ll be key for his offense to take the ball back up the middle and go the other way with it to be effective. The Trojans play a Central Decatur team in round two that has won five of their last six contests, but have had their struggles on the mound. You can hear Twin Cedars’ semifinal game live on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA and KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser and Marcus Johnson calling the play-by-play from Bussey. Pregame starts at 6:45 p.m. with first pitch at 7:00 p.m.
