Emily Wallace was masterful, the Panther bats were singing, and Knoxville posted an 8-2 softball win over Pella Christian last night. The Panthers got three runs in the fourth…two in the third and four more in the fourth. While the Panther offense was humming along, Emily Wallace was dominating in the circle, allowing just one base runner through six innings of work. Coach Steph Christner told KNIA/KRLS she hopes to see more of that from Wallace. Wallace gave up two runs on four hits and eight strikeouts. Taylor Carter was 4/4 with two R-B-I, Marissa Lenger was 3/3 and Ricky Hall had two hits and two R-B-I. For Pella Christian, Coach Karen Harrill said the girls could not sustain the momentum gained from the previous night’s win over Norwalk. Nicole Kelderman went 3 1/3 innings allowing eight runs on seven hits, Taylor Hartson pitched the final three-and-two/thirds. Knoxville is now 12-13-1 and 9-6-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference while Pella Christian is 12-17 and 6-13 in conference play.
