Brian Brown is having the kind of run in southern Iowa than drivers only dream about. Already winning the 360 Nationals, finishing second in the Capitani Classic, winning the Front Row Challenge, and now winning Thursday’s preliminary night at the 54th Annual Knoxville Nationals last night. Brown started fifth and after watching Jeff Swindell, and Sam Hafertepe Jr enjoy the lead, Brown went for it on a restart and grabbed the lead on lap 21 of the 25-lap race. Hafertepe finished second while Kerry Madsen enjoying a great run of success of his own finished third. Currently the points are being led by Madsen after one night of action at the Knoxville Nationals with Brown in second and Paul McMahan in third place. The second half of the field will run tonight as Wednesday’s show will run tonight after being rained out. You can hear the action on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA starting with Live Track Side at five, M-R-N’s Winged Nation at six, and Race Night’s Live at seven.
