Coming into this season, Pella Christian knew they’d be bringing back a very talented senior pitcher in Andrew VanderHart that would be at the forefront of the Little Hawkeye Conference battles ahead of them. Unfortunately, an early season injury put an end to VanderHart’s pitching for the year and forced him into mainly a role at first base. Though it was a hit to their rotation and depth, Coach Nate Johnson says his guys still fought through it like champions. Johnson notes that his team never gave up or never backed down, and mentions their big extra-inning win over Pella late in the season as a highlight and testament to their never-say-die attitude. The Eagles finished with a mark of 11 – 22.
