The Pella Christian baseball team faced a lot of adversity this past season. The Eagles took on quality competitors the first few weeks of the year, and to make matters a little worse, not too far into the season, their senior ace pitcher, Andrew VanderHart, was told he wouldn’t be able to pitch the rest of 2014 with an injury. Eagles’ head coach, Nathan Johnson says his team could have just folded and not tried from that point on, but came to the field ready to play each day. He adds with how his team finished the season gives him hope for next year. The Eagles won three of their last four of the regular season, before dropping to Albia in the first round of the district tournament. Pella Christian brings back all but two players from the varsity squad for 2015.
