WeatherEye Meteorologist Greg Tatro says weather in the Knoxville-area will remain ominous, but should allow for racing to get underway this evening.

“It looks like most of the heavier rainfall is gonna be staying off to the south of the Knoxville-area,” said Tatro. “Compared to yesterday, when it was kind of more widespread rainfall, what we’re seeing right now is a little bit spotty in nature.”

Misty weather with low clouds is predicted for much of the day. Heavier rainfall is expected overnight but should stay to the south of the Knoxville-area.

Tatro says this weather pattern will continue in the Knoxville-area for the next several days.
