Even as school approaches, summer programs continue at Lake Red Rock.

This week the Park Rangers are featuring “Iowa Prehistory,” a program that focuses on the first people who lived in the area of the lake and the cultures of those Native American Tribes that once called the Des Moines River home. Park Ranger Tracy Spry says the featured speaker is Pete Eyheralde (Ear-all-day), former Naturalist on the Mahaska County Conservation Board. The program starts at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Whitebreast Amphitheatre.
