Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was in Knoxville Friday for a meet-n-greet on behalf of Republican Congressional candidate Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

While visiting Knoxville, Jindal took a tour of the National Sprint Car Hall Of Fame & Museum before talking with area GOP leaders at the Marion County Republican Party Booth.

Jindal, a potential 2016 Presidential candidate, told KNIA/KRLS he believes Congress is in need of new leadership and say Dr. Miller-Meeks can bring that to Washington.

“I think people are demanding big change across the country. They’re pretty frustrated with D.C. right now and that’s why I think they’re looking to elect new leaders to go in there and make a difference right away. Mariannette will do that. She’ll hit the ground running from the first day.”

Dr. Miller-Meeks is running for the 2nd Congressional District Seat against incumbent Democrat Dave Loebsack.
