The Knoxville Cross Country Squad battled temperatures in the high 80s and heat indices near 100 yesterday at the Knoxville Early Bird Invitational.The boys ran away and dominated the meet scoring 21 points to Norwalk’s 43 and Wayne’s 77. Knoxville’s Cade McNeil was the individual winner as the Panthers had nine of the top ten finishers. Chase Larson was second for Knoxville. On the girls side…the Panthers scored 50 points and finished runner-up to Norwalk who scored 15. Sydney Washington led the Knoxville runners with a ninth place finish. Coach Michael Splavec told KNIA/KRLS Sports he was very pleased with how everyone ran. The Panthers have nearly two weeks to prepare for their second meet of the season which is the Central College Meet on September sixth.
