Late August Perfect for Planting Trees

As summer winds down, conditions become more and more favorable to plant the largest feature in many backyards.

Sheryl Nunnikhoven with Dutch Meadows Landscaping says mid-August to early-September is the best time of year to plant trees because of the cooler air and warmer soil. She says common mistakes that planters make are planting trees too deep, overwatering or underwatering, and over mulching the tree.
