Police officers throughout the county and state will have extra patrols on the road over the next two weeks.The latest special Traffic Enforcement Period, or sTEP, wave for the Labor Day holiday starts Monday and goes until Friday, September 5th. Officers will be looking to reduce the number of accidents during the time period with the increased number of drivers on the road. The Iowa State Patrol, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pella, and Knoxville Police Departments are all participating in the extra traffic enforcement.
