The search for a missing Knoxville boy who was found safe playing video games at his friend’s house Monday, is a lesson for children and parents alike, according Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada.

“Have in the past started doing door-to-door searches. We don’t want to invest that type of manpower and those resources if we don’t have to, so have the conversations with your kids. And if you’re a parent where a child shows up at your house, make sure their parent know where they are.”

The 11-year-old boy was safely returned to his grandmother after an extensive search of more than three hours.

Losada says this is an excellent time for parents to review household rules with their children to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future.
