Many representatives from all levels of government were at the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project groundbreaking this week.

Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds says the amount of power generated by the completed dam will help keep energy costs low, and says that will help boost Iowa’s economy. Congressman Dave Loebsack says he had the chance to go through Pella and learn about some of the local impact of the project. The project, once completed, is expected to generate enough power for more than 18,000 thousand homes. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest about closures in relation to the project.
