While most area students are set to begin classes in less than a week, teachers are already starting to get back into the swing of things. For new teachers, it’s about getting accustomed to a new school.

That’s why the Knoxville Community School District held their new teacher orientation Wednesday.

New Northstar 5th Grade teacher Tyler Pearson told KNIA/KRLS News he’s excited about his return to teach in his hometown.

“I’ve always wanted to come back so I’m glad to be back.”

Meanwhile, new Northstar counselor Devin Ebert is anxious to get the school year started.

“I’ve heard great things about Knoxville and I’m just really excited to get to meet the students and get started and to see what the school year holds.”

Meet Your Teacher Night for the Knoxville Community School District Pre K to 8th grade is today at their respective schools from 4pm to 6pm.
