Pella Regional Health Center provided more than $7 million in community benefits in 2013 according to a recently completed assessment by the Iowa Hospital Association.

That amount includes more than $4.5 million in uncompensated care such as charity, bad debt and unpaid costs of Medicaid. Community benefits are programs and services that address identified community health needs, regardless of source or availability of payment. The results for Pella Regional are included in a statewide report by the Iowa Hospital Association that shows Iowa hospitals provided community benefits valued at $1.3 billion.
