Sammy Swindell Calls It A Career

1983 Knoxville Nationals Winner Sammy Swindell has announced his retirement from sprint car racing.Swindell announced that in a press release yesterday saying he is hanging up the helmet after over 40 years of racing. Swindell says he will race in the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in January and after that his career will be over. Swindell retires with 294 World of Outlaws victories and five Chili Bowl Nationals wins. He says he will concentrate on watching his son Kevin’s budding NASCAR career and spending more time with his family.
