More and more children are going back to school without getting their vaccinations.

Marion County Public Health Department Nurse Judi Van Hulzen says those vaccinations need to be up-to-date not only to keep the child from getting sick but to prevent others around the child from getting sick, as well. Van Hulzen says the time that children need to get vaccinated is when they’re entering kindergarten and secondary school, around 6th or 7th grade. Vaccinations can be obtained through your primary care doctor or at the public health office.
