The Pella Police Department reports that on September 13, 2014, at approximately 12:11 am they received a report of an unattended and parked motor vehicle that had been stolen from a lot on the City’s south side.

At approximately 2:00 am the stolen car was seen traveling in the Knoxville area by the vehicle’s owner who began to follow the vehicle. The victim reported this information to the 911 operator, and Marion County deputies and officers from the Knoxville PD were dispatched to locate the vehicles. The stolen vehicle proceeded to flee south on Hwy. 14 to the junction of 112th Ave. where it ran off of the traveled portion of the road and crashed. Two people emerged from the stolen vehicle, with the operator being delayed until the arrival of the deputies, while the passenger fled.

Arrested in the incident was the vehicle’s operator:

No fixed address
Female, 35 years of age

The charges are:

Operation Without Owner’s Consent, an Aggravated Misdemeanor
Theft, a Simple Misdemeanor
