An early goal stood up for the Central men’s soccer team, who recorded their first win of the 2014 season with a 1 – 0 final over Maranatha Baptist up in Wisconsin yesterday. Dennis Forrest scored just over three minutes into the first half and Austin Little stopped six shots in goal for the Dutch, who are now 1 – 3 on the season. The women took down Maranatha, 5 – 0. Liz Daniels had two goals, and the Dutch added one apiece from Anissa Stanitzek, Emily Saville and Rachel Schmidt. Central’s women are now 2 – 1 and they’ll join the men with a men’s/women’s doubleheader in Illinois against North Central College.
