The Knoxville City Fire Department is looking for donations to help them create packets for students to be given out during Fire Prevention Week next month.

Knoxville City Fire Chief Jim Mitchell says the department has decided to take it upon themselves to update the packets this year and needs additional funds to do so. The packets will include information on fire safety, how to plan an exit drill from your home or school, and a magnet with a monthly reminder to check smoke detectors among other items.

Donations to help the Knoxville City Fire Department with their Fire Prevention Week packets can be sent to Knoxville City Hall to the Knoxville Fire Prevention Fund or dropped off at Knoxville Fire Department.
