In a game that was as close as expected, Pella Christian came up just short to Sigourney-Keota last night, 29 – 27, as heard on 92.1 KRLS. Each team scored once in the first half, but a last-second touchdown pass to Peyton Crawford gave the Cobras some cushion and momentum at the break. The Eagles held a brief lead in the second half, and had a chance to tie it with less than two minutes to go, but a two point conversion attempt was batted away in the end zone to preserve the Cobras’ victory. Crawford ran for 222 yards to lead Sigourney-Keota, while Levi Jungling was virtually unstoppable for the Eagles, with 12 catches for 185 yards and another 28 on the ground. Pella Christian drops to 2 – 2 overall on the season and begins district play 0 – 1. They’ll try to even up that district record this Friday night at home against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
