Marion County Senior Nutrition is holding a fundraiser that will end with one public official getting a pie in the face.

In celebration of National Senior Center Month and Hunger Awareness Month, the Meals On Wheels program is looking to raise five thousand dollars to serve approximately 660 older adults in Knoxville who are at or below poverty level.

They plan to raise the funds by selling votes to put a pie in the face of either Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada, City Manager Harold Stewart, Board of Supervisors Member Jim Kingery, or City Councilwoman and Senior Nutrition Director Dawn Allspach-Kline. The official will receive their pie in the face on Friday, September 26th.

You can donate and vote at the Knoxville Senior Center or at businesses throughout Knoxville that have a specially marked container.
