The Marion County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday and took under advisement a proposal by Bob Baker with the National Sprint Car Hall Hall of Fame and Museum to increase the county contribution to their “Expand the Dream” expansion project.

The Museum has applied for a $600,000 grant from Vision Iowa and that organization has requested that both the county and the city of Knoxville increase their contributions to $10,000, which may be spread out over several years.

The Knoxville City Council will be approached at a future council meeting.

Discussion was also directed toward the Knoxville streetscape project, as concern was expressed regarding access for emergency vehicles to the courthouse after planned benches are installed.
