The state of Iowa has released data this week that shows more than $1.1 million dollars in tax benefits for Marion County. According to the Iowa Department of Revenue, the county is receiving roughly $569,000 in state back-fill funding and taxpayers are receiving more than $532,000 in state tax credits. Governor Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds released the data from the 2013 assessment year on Thursday. The benefits are part of a bi-partisan property tax reduction bill signed in June of last year, which the governor’s office says will provide $4.4 billion dollars in relief over 10 years statewide.
