Knoxville has named Aaron Adams as their new assistant city manager.

Adams, who is currently a senior budget analyst for the City of Mesa, Arizona, accepted the job Monday morning.

According to Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart, Adams did his undergraduate work at Michigan State and has a masters in public administration from Arizona State. He also has several years of experience at both the city and county levels of government. Adams has also been a part of the Alliance for Innovation, an international network committed to transforming local government by accelerating the development and dissemination of innovations.

“He brings a good scope and breath of experience,” Stewart told KNIA/KRLS News. Stewart adds Adams’s skill sets of finance and planning will be a great benefit to Knoxville.

Adams is expected to begin work as Knoxville’s assistant city manager on December 3rd.
