Central College will hold a dedication ceremony for the Helen Jean Hislop Center next Saturday.

The naming of the center, which is home to the exercise science and athletic training programs on campus, commemorates Hislop’s years of service in the field of physical therapy. The Class of 1950 Central grad developed the first doctoral program in physical therapy in the United States at University of Southern California, where she chaired the department until her retirement in 1998. The dedication ceremony will be held at the exercise science building, located at the corner of West Fifth St. and Independence, at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
