Red Rock Dam T-15

A section of Highway T15 that crosses over the Red Rock Dam is closed to all traffic for about 10 to 12 weeks.

The road closure is necessary while large construction equipment drills and constructs a large subsurface wall that will be tied into the existing dam structure. In order to complete this work, the equipment will be positioned on T-15 making the road inaccessible to traffic until this phase of construction is completed. Missouri River Energy Services (MRES), which is building the project, will keep the public up to date about any changes in the road-closure date.

A detour route will be established and signage will be in place to direct traffic in the area. The hydroelectric plant, when completed in 2018, will be capable of meeting the electricity needs of about 18,000 homes.
“We know that this causes an inconvenience for daily traffic, but MRES and Ames Construction are doing everything we can to minimize disruptions to traffic during construction of this new hydroelectric facility,” said MRES Director of Member and Public Relations Bill Radio.
