For the first time in over a month, the Central football team plays a road game, when they head to Decorah to play Luther for another Iowa Conference game this afternoon. The Norse bring back a powerful run game that led them to a 28 – 14 win over Dubuque last week, moving them to 4 – 0 on the season, their best start since 1987. A week after getting picked apart by Wartburg’s more traditional pro-style offense, the Dutch will face a distinctly different challenge as the Norse use a run-based option offense. Quarterback J.J. Sirios has thrown just 11 passes in Luther’s four games, and he’s the main cog in a rushing attack that’s second in all of division three in yards per game. Central Coach Jeff McMartin says that for the Norse, it’s just as much about the Jimmy’s and Jo’s as it is the X’s and O’s. Trevor Castle has the play-by-play live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com, with pregame coverage starting at 12:40 p.m. and kick-off at one.
